Aluminum Alloy Plate For Oil Tank Trucks

As the core substrate material in oil tank truck manufacturing, aluminum alloy plates are key to replacing traditional carbon steel and upgrading high-end fluid transportation equipment. Driven by the global trend towards lightweight and standardized logistics, aluminum alloys, with their comprehensive advantages of being lightweight, corrosion-resistant, safe, and easy to process, have become the standard material for tank trucks transporting refined oil and chemical fluids. Haomei Aluminum has been deeply involved in the R&D and production of aluminum alloy plates for many years, strictly adhering to authoritative domestic and international standards such as ASTM B209, and EN 485. We focus on supplying highly adaptable and stable aluminum alloy plates for oil tank trucks, helping global tank truck manufacturers reduce costs, increase efficiency, and improve product compliance and market competitiveness from the material perspective.

We offer a range of specialized alloy grades to cater to the different stress characteristics and operating conditions of various oil tank truck structures, enabling precise material selection based on specific scenarios. The stress and operating conditions of different structures such as tank bodies, end caps, and baffles in oil tank trucks vary greatly. A single sheet material cannot meet the needs of all scenarios. We specifically match dedicated alloy grades to achieve precise adaptation:

- 5083 H111/H116 aluminum plate:

The core material for the main tank body, with a magnesium content of 4.0%-4.9%, tensile strength ≥270MPa, elongation ≥12%. It possesses extremely strong resistance to salt spray and oil corrosion, excellent weld sealing performance, and is not prone to aging and deformation even after long-term loading of gasoline, diesel, and common chemical solvents. It is the mainstream material for medium and large-sized oil tank trucks.

- 5754 O/H111 aluminum plate:

Balancing moderate strength and excellent plasticity, it has stable forming performance, minimal post-weld deformation, and no leakage risks. It is mainly used for tank body splicing and end cap forming, and is suitable for processing various irregularly shaped tanks.

- 5454 H32 aluminum plate:

Custom-designed for tank interior baffles, offering outstanding impact and fatigue resistance. It effectively cushions the impact of liquid sloshing during transport, significantly improving tank truck stability and driving safety.

- 5182 H112 aluminum plate:

High elongation (over 18%), high bending and stretching precision, suitable for processing large-curvature heads and complex connection structures.

The ultra-low weight of aluminum alloy plates effectively reduces oil tank truck operating costs, significantly improving the economic efficiency of logistics transportation.

- Extreme lightweight design enhances transportation profitability:

Aluminum alloy has a density of only 2.7g/cm³, one-third that of steel. A 45m³ tank can be 3-5 tons lighter, increasing legal load capacity by 15%-20%, resulting in significantly improved profitability per trip. Based on 100,000 kilometers of annual operation, each vehicle can save approximately US$12,000 in fuel costs annually, while also reducing tire wear and maintenance costs.

- Superior corrosion resistance, extended service life:

The dense oxide film formed by the 5-series alloy exhibits unparalleled stability in harsh environments such as oil spills and salt spray, eliminating the need for additional anti-corrosion coatings. Its service life reaches 15-20 years, 2-3 times that of carbon steel tank trucks. More importantly, the aluminum alloy tank body will not rust due to corrosion, avoiding contamination of high-purity fuel and ensuring transportation safety.

- Comprehensive upgrade in safety performance:

The excellent low-temperature toughness of aluminum alloy (remaining stable even at -196℃) ensures safe transportation in cold regions; excellent weldability (5356 welding wire recommended) guarantees weld strength and sealing, reducing the risk of leakage; and its energy absorption characteristics during collisions reduce accident losses.

Relying on mature production processes and a rigorous end-to-end quality control system, we ensure that every aluminum sheet for oil tankers meets precision standards and maintains stable performance. We employ advanced continuous casting and rolling processes, precisely controlling plate thickness tolerance to ±0.05mm and surface flatness to ≤3mm/m. The plates are smooth, free of scratches and pores, laying the foundation for precise tank welding and forming. We can supply ultra-wide plates up to 2650mm, effectively reducing the number of welds and improving overall tank sealing and structural strength. All products are EN 10204 3.1 material certified, with full quality traceability, meeting global export order requirements. We also provide customized plate processing solutions and professional welding and forming technical guidance based on customer transport media and equipment parameters.

Leveraging stable product quality and comprehensive support services, Haomei's aluminum alloy plates for oil tank trucks are exported to North America, Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and other global markets, providing raw material support to over 500 tank truck manufacturers. Through precise material selection, stable plate performance, and attentive technical support, we help customers create high-safety, high-profit, and long-life high-end oil tank truck products, continuously gaining a competitive edge in the global fluid transport equipment market.
